On the 'system' screen it does tell me that windows is activated, but it is also telling me to get a genuine copy or validate online. I contacted Staples, where I bought it, who told me their vendor said the Win7 was genuine. So I phoned the vendor, who also told me it was genuine and gave me the phone activation number for MS, which I can't use because I can't access the phone activation screen because it wants me to validate, not activate. To say I'm unhappy with the customer service experience is an understatement!! I'm currently slogging through a free MS support online chat which I hold out zero hope for. Can someone here help?
